Best Places to Shop in Ayer Keroh

Ayer Keroh is predominantly a peaceful town with an overabundance of tourist attractions and recreational forests. Hence, there are not many places for shopping aside from the hordes of souvenir stalls in the vicinity of attractions like Taman Mini Malaysia & ASEAN. Visitors may find several places for some retail therapy along the road towards the city, from handmade batik clothing at Melaka Batik House to locally produced coffee drinks and premium herbs at Fine Taste Products Sdn Bhd. We have compiled our top five shopping venues in Ayer Keroh which complement Malacca’s shopping havens, namely Jonker Street and Malacca City.

Fine Taste Products Sdn Bhd offers some of Malaysia's uniquely roasted white coffee brands, spices, herbs and roots with both aromatic flavour and healing properties. Located beside Philea Resort & Spa, Fine Taste Products Sdn Bhd is an established retail store which specialises in promoting local products from Malaysia.

With over 100 local food products under its roof, this establishment is mostly frequented by guests of Phileas Resort & Spa and visitors on tour programmes. The products are slightly more expensive compared to similar local products centres (like San Shu Gong and Tan Kim Hock Product Centre), but it is a good place to stop by for premium herbs and roots like ginseng.

AEON Melaka Store & Shopping Centre was the most popular and successful shopping centre in Malacca before the establishment of more modern malls like Hatten Square Suites & Shoppes in Malacca City. Despite its age (it was built in 1991), AEON Melaka Shopping Centre still looks fresh due to several major refurbishments and upgrades to enhance visitors’ shopping experience.

For shoppers who are famished after a long day of shopping, they can opt to dine at the complex’s food court or Sushi King for an affordable Japanese dining experience. With over 100 retail tenants, AEON Melaka Store & Shopping Centre is the place to go for those who want to shop and at the same time avoid the weekend traffic congestion in Malacca City.

Gee Kraf is just one of the many souvenir stalls surrounding Taman Mini Malaysia & ASEAN, but it offers a wide array of affordable and quality handicrafts. Situated on the left side of the attraction’s entrance, visitors can easily spot Gee Kraf from the massive display of items ranging from wind chimes to handmade jewellery.

After a day of experiencing the many activities hosted in Taman Mini Malaysia & ASEAN, we recommend visiting Gee Kraf as your one-stop shop for purchasing souvenirs for loved ones back home. In addition to a number of handmade fridge magnets, snow globes, key chains, and photo frames, Gee Kraf also sells a colourful array of sun hats and battery-powered fans – perfect companions for Malacca’s rather unforgiving weather.
